They also believe in the four noble truths, they are: 1. life means suffering 2. the origin of suffering is attachment 3. the cessation of suffering is attainable 4. the path to the cessation of suffering, and the five basic precepts, which are: 1. not to harm living beings 2. not taking things not freely given 3. no sexual misconduct 4. no false speech 5. no intoxicating drinks and drugs causing heedlessness. They worship the buddha in temples, meditation halls, shrines, pagodas, monasteries, and sanctuaries. The leaders of this religion are monks and nuns, their head leader is the Dalai Lama. This religion does not believe in a god, they instead believe in The Buddha. Their sacred writing is called The Tipitaka, it contains chapters of Buddhas life. This religion practices are meditating to reach enlightenment while burning incenses. They have many religious festivals, they are, New Year the beginning of the year, Vesak is the day when buddha became enlightened, Majha puja Day is when buddha said the Ovadha patimokkah, and many more! Their main symbols are Buddha meditating, an eight spoked wheel, parasol, golden fish, treasure vase, lotus, conch, endless knot, and a victory banner.
